UdL competes for the first time in the prestigious Jessup Internacional Law Moot Court with the support of the Trivium Debat Chair
Download PdfFrom February 18 to 20, the University of Lleida took part for the first time in the JESSUP International Law Moot Court, the world’s most prestigious international law competition, bringing together over 700 universities from 100 countries.
The team, composed of students Laura Romo, Valeria Chacón, Blau Miró, Marta Puig, and Anesly Albornoz, and coached by Enric Ormo, competed in the national rounds held in Madrid at the Cuatrecasas law firm. A total of 44 students from 9 different universities and 21 coaches participated in this stage of the competition. After three days of intense legal debates, Pompeu Fabra University emerged victorious in the final against the Autonomous University of Madrid, securing the opportunity to represent Spain at the international rounds in Washington, DC, from March 29 to April 5.
For the UdL team, the experience has been an exceptional academic and personal challenge, strengthening their legal reasoning and advocacy skills while allowing them to engage with students and professionals from other universities. Without a doubt, this has been a formative and unforgettable experience that sets a strong foundation for future participation.
