On 24 September, Professor Marta J. Muñoz Gómez, from the Department of Administrative Law of the FDET Law Department, defended her doctoral thesis, entitled ‘The principle of environmental proximity in agri-food law: the legal construction of the agro-ecological transition’,

In her thesis, Dr. Muñoz defends, after an extensive comparative analysis of Spanish, Italian and French legislation, the existence of a new implicit principle in agri-food law, the principle of proximity, with the potential to achieve environmental and also social goals.

The thesis has been supervised by Dr. Laura Salamero and, in the opinion of the examining board composed of Dr. Mariano López Benítez from the University of Cordoba, Dr. Luc Bodiguel from the University of Nantes, and Dr. Antonio Ezquerra Huerva from the University of Lleida, it has been awarded the qualification of excellent cum laude.
