On February 3rd, the Department of Law hosted a seminar featuring Dr. Paula Cisneros Cristóbal, Assistant Professor at the University Center for Defense. Her talk, "Prisoners of War in the Russia-Ukraine Conflict: Is International Humanitarian Law Effective?", examined the legal protections for combatants and the uncertainties surrounding their status in the war.

The session explored key cases, including the Azov Regiment and the Wagner Group, and wrapped up with a thought-provoking discussion where attendees shared their perspectives on the challenges of applying International Humanitarian Law in this context.
