Dr. Ana Mª Romero Burillo, Professor of Labour and Social Security Law, has been awarded the Encarna Sanahuja Yll Mention in the framework of the Jaume Vicens Vives Distinctions, awarded by the Generalitat de Catalunya for university teaching excellence, in the individual category, for her long and brilliant career as a teacher, researcher and director of the Dolors Piera Centre for Equal Opportunities and the Promotion of Women for more than ten years; for her perseverance in transmitting to her students a sensitive view of sex and gender, and for her commitment to effective equality between women and men, especially in the field of labour law.


This distinction was awarded on 3 October at the opening ceremony of the 2024-2025 academic year of the Catalan university system, presided over by the Right Honourable President of the Generalitat, Mr Salvador Illa i Roca, who was accompanied by the Right Honourable Minister for Research and Universities, Ms Núria Montserrat Pulido.
